How does it feel to be hypnotised?
Trance is a very pleasant, calm state, where we use that relaxation to focus your mind on the positive future that we are working together to create.It is a pleasant, slightly heavy feeling of the limbs - but perfectly natural - modern neuroscience suggests that we go into trance around once in every seven minutes!
Will I lose control?
No. You remain in control of your thoughts and actions. Hypnotherapy is not something that I do to you – we work together to achieve the goals that you want. Any suggestions that do not fit with your own principles and values will be rejected by your subconscious. You will find yourself taking more control of your life though…
Will I need to come for lots of sessions?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy works very quickly: Stop Smoking treatment involves a single two-hour session; Fears and phobias need four sessions; more deep-seated issues typically involve around twelve sessions, though you are the expert here, and you decide when you have achieved the desired level of control over your life.
How can I pay?
I accept cash, cheque, debit and credit cards. Payment is due at the end of each session.
What is the Initial Consultation?
This is your first hour long session where we discuss your issue and I make an assessment of the right course of treatment for you. You have the opportunity to assess whether Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is right for you, and I am the right therapist for you. You will receive a free relaxation CD (or access to an audio file) to help you relax between sessions.
What if my issue is not on your list?
Hypnotherapy can help people deal with a vast number of things – my list is a summary of the most common ones – contact me if you want to make change in something else. Generally speaking hypnotherapy will help you deal much more effectively with any condition that is made worse by stress
Do I need to tell my doctor?
If you are looking for help with a physical complaint, it is wise to inform your GP, and I will be asking a standard list of questions on our first meeting to get an overall picture of your level of wellbeing. Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical treatment, but works very well in partnership!
